BPR Submission Guideline

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Business Psychology Review (BPR), a publication by the Hong Kong Business Psychology Association (HKBPA).

We welcome submissions from researchers, practitioners, and students that align with our mission to promote knowledge exchange and advance the field of business psychology. To ensure a smooth submission process, please adhere to the following guidelines:


1. Scope and Topics

BPR publishes original research, case studies, reviews, and thought-provoking commentary related to business psychology. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Workplace well-being and mental health
  • Cross-cultural business psychology
  • Talent Management and career development
  • Psychology and ESG
  • Leadership and organizational behaviour
  • Employee engagement and motivation
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Stress, burnout, and coping strategies
  • Team dynamics and collaboration
  • The impact of technology on work and psychology

2. Types of Submissions

We accept the following types of submissions:

  • Research Articles: Original empirical studies with clear methodology, analysis, and implications for practice.
  • Case Studies: Practical applications of business psychology in real-world settings.
  • Literature Reviews: Critical reviews of existing research on relevant topics.
  • Commentaries: Thought-provoking essays or opinion pieces on current issues in business psychology.
  • Book Reviews: Reviews of recent publications relevant to the field.

3. Submission Requirements

  • Language: Submissions must be in English.
  • Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Length:
    • Research articles: 5,000-10000 words (excluding references).
    • Case studies, reviews, and commentaries: 1,500–3,000 words.
    • Book reviews: 800–1,200 words.
  • Abstract: Include a concise abstract of 150–200 words summarizing the key points of your submission.
  • Keywords: Provide 3–6 keywords to help categorize your work.
  • Referencing: Use the APA (7th edition) referencing style for citations and references.
  • Originality: Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Ensure that your submission adheres to ethical standards in research and writing.
  • For studies involving human participants, include a statement confirming ethical approval and informed consent.
  • Avoid plagiarism and ensure proper attribution of all sources.

5. Submission Process

  • Submit your manuscript via email to [insert submission email address].
  • Include a cover letter with the following information:
    • Title of the submission.
    • Author(s) name(s), affiliations, and contact details.
    • A brief statement explaining the significance of the work and its relevance to business psychology.

6. Editorial Process

  • All submissions undergo a editorial board review to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Authors can expect to receive feedback within 6–8 weeks of submission.

7. Copyright and Licensing

  • By submitting to BPR, authors agree to grant the Hong Kong Business Psychology Association (HKBPA) the right to publish and distribute their work.
  • Authors retain copyright and may reuse their work in other publications, provided BPR is acknowledged as the original source.
